Your questions, answered
How strong are the XL pads?
Each pad carries 2% salicylic acid, the Maximum Strength level and four times the 0.5% in Stridex Acne Pads with Aloe. Stridex XL pads are alcohol-free and contain grapefruit extract and fragrance.
How much bigger is an XL pad?
About 67% bigger than a standard Stridex pad (7.07 sq in against 4.21 sq in), so one pad covers a back, chest or shoulders in a few swipes. The tub holds 90 dual-textured pads: a smooth side for applying and a textured side for extra exfoliation.
What does the label say they're for?
The Drug Facts say Stridex XL treats acne, reduces the number of pimples and blackheads, allows skin to heal and helps prevent new pimples forming. Wipe a thin layer over the whole affected area, not just individual spots.
How often should I use them?
Start with once a day, because salicylic acid can dry the skin, then build up to two or three times a day if needed. If bothersome dryness or peeling occurs, cut back to once a day or every other day.
Can I use them with benzoyl peroxide or another acne product?
Carefully — the label warns that irritation and dryness are more likely if you use another topical acne medication at the same time. If that happens, use one product at a time.
Any safety points?
They're for external use only: keep pads away from eyes, lips and other mucous membranes, and don't leave a pad on the skin for long. Don't use them if you're allergic to salicylic acid, put used pads in the bin rather than flushing them, and wash your hands afterwards.

Choose XL for body breakouts or if you like the textured side. For the face alone, Stridex Single-Step Acne Control and the gentler Stridex Acne Pads with Aloe are the standard-size pads we stock.
