1,000 mg of free-form taurine, twice the 500 mg in NOW's regular-strength capsule, hence Double Strength. Nothing else active is added.
How should I take it?
One capsule once or twice a day with juice or water, preferably between meals. The 100-capsule bottle lasts 100 days at one a day, or 50 days at two.
Is NOW Taurine vegan?
Yes — the taurine is made synthetically, not taken from animals, and the capsule is plant-based hypromellose. The label also carries kosher and halal symbols and says it isn't made with wheat, gluten, soy, milk, egg, fish, shellfish, tree nuts or sesame.
What does taurine do?
Taurine has no authorised health claims in the UK, so we won't promise energy or pumps. It's an amino acid found mainly in meat and fish, which is why many plant-based eaters and gym-goers choose a measured capsule instead of energy drinks.
