Your questions, answered
What's in one serving of Gold BCAA?
About two scoops (12.5g) give 7,000mg BCAA: 3,500mg leucine, 1,750mg isoleucine and 1,750mg valine. Each serving also has 2,000mg L-glutamine, 1,000mg citrulline malate (667mg citrulline), and 80mg vitamin C, 16mg niacin and 1.4mg vitamin B6, each 100% NRV.
When and how should I drink it?
Once a day straight after training: mix 12.5g with 250–300ml of water. The label says the scoop is only a guide, so use kitchen scales for an exact 12.5g; at one serving a day the 375g tub lasts 30 days.
What does 2:1:1 mean?
Two parts leucine to one part isoleucine and one part valine, so half of the 7g in Gold BCAA 2:1:1 is leucine.
Do the added vitamins do anything?
Yes — vitamin C, niacin and vitamin B6 each contribute to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, and each is at 100% NRV per serving. The amino acids themselves have no authorised health claims.
Which flavours can I choose?
Citrus-Peach and Fruit Massage. Both are sweetened with sucralose, acesulfame K and steviol glycosides and coloured with beetroot juice concentrate and beta-carotene.
Who shouldn't take it?
The label says Gold BCAA isn't for pregnant or breastfeeding women or anyone prone to kidney stones, and asks you to check with a doctor if you take medication. It's made where allergens are handled, so it may contain milk, soy, gluten, eggs, nuts, fish and other allergens.
