How do I take FertilAid for Women, and how long does a bottle last?
Three capsules a day, ideally split across meals, so the 90-capsule bottle is a one-month supply. Take it every day through your whole cycle, including during your period.
What's in it?
FertilAid for Women is a preconception multivitamin with methylfolate (the active form of folate), vitamin D3, iron and iodine. It also contains antioxidants (beta-carotene and vitamins C and E) and the herbs chasteberry (Vitex) and red clover.
Why methylfolate instead of folic acid?
Methylfolate is the active form of folate, so the body doesn't need to convert it first. Folate contributes to maternal tissue growth during pregnancy, which is why it's a key nutrient for women trying to conceive.
What should I do when I get a positive test?
Stop taking FertilAid for Women once a test confirms pregnancy and switch to a standard prenatal vitamin. Don't take it while breastfeeding either, because it contains herbs.
Can I take it with Clomid, other medication or another multivitamin?
Ask your doctor first if you take prescription medicine, including fertility drugs such as Clomid or blood-pressure tablets. Don't add a separate multivitamin or prenatal, because FertilAid for Women already has a full multivitamin base.
Is it vegetarian and gluten-free?
Yes, it comes in vegetarian cellulose capsules and is made without gluten, dairy, yeast or soy. If you struggle to swallow capsules, you can open them and mix the contents into food or a smoothie.
Is there a version for my partner?
