What's in a scoop of ABE?
Each 12.5g scoop has 200mg caffeine, 4g citrulline malate (2:1), 3g creatine monohydrate, 2g beta-alanine, 400mg taurine, 250mg choline bitartrate, 50mg niacin and 100mcg vitamin B12. The 375g tub gives 30 servings.
How do I take ABE, and should I start with a full scoop?
Mix one heaped 12.5g scoop with 250ml of cold water and drink it 15 minutes before training. The label tells new users to take half a scoop for the first 7 days, and Applied Nutrition recommends weighing it because the scoop is only an estimate.
How much caffeine is that, and who shouldn't take it?
200mg per full scoop, so count it towards your daily caffeine along with coffee, tea and energy drinks, and keep it away from bedtime. ABE is not recommended for children or pregnant or breastfeeding women.
Does the creatine in ABE count?
Yes — 3g creatine monohydrate per scoop is the daily amount at which creatine increases physical performance in successive bursts of short-term, high-intensity exercise. Bear that in mind if you also take a separate creatine.
Why does my skin tingle after taking it?
That's almost certainly the 2g beta-alanine, which commonly causes a harmless, temporary tingling. Starting on the half scoop the label suggests makes it milder while you get used to ABE.
Which flavours can I choose, and are they the same formula?
Twelve: Sour Apple, Bubblegum Crush, Baddy Berry, Blue Raspberry, Cherry Cola, Candy Ice Blast, Energy Flavour, Fruit Punch, Sour Gummy Bear, Strawberry Mojito, Tropical and Cool Watermelon. The actives are the same in the labels we checked, but colours vary: Sour Apple contains tartrazine, which may have an adverse effect on activity and attention in children.
ABE or BAD ASS Pre Workout?
