How is it different from the original Maui Babe Browning Lotion?
This version adds coconut, macadamia nut and sunflower oils for a classic coconut scent, and its ingredients list has no mineral oil, unlike the original. Both use Kona coffee, kukui nut oil and aloe; we stock the original Maui Babe Browning Lotion in 118ml and 236ml.
Does it have any SPF?
No. The label says it doesn't contain an SPF, so it won't stop you burning. If you wear sunscreen with it, Maui Babe says to apply the SPF first.
How do I apply it?
Shake well, then apply generously and evenly to all areas 15 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply often for the most colour, and always after swimming or towel drying.
Can I use it on a sunbed?
Yes. The Amazing Browning Lotion with Coconut Oil label says it may be used indoors and outdoors, so it works for sunbed sessions as well as outdoor sun.
Will it give me colour without the sun?
No, it's not a self-tanner or bronzer. It's a tanning accelerant that works with UV exposure, so you won't see colour until you've been in the sun or on a sunbed.
I have a nut allergy. Can I use it?
Check with a pharmacist first: the ingredients include kukui nut oil and macadamia nut oil. The label also says to stop and ask a doctor if irritation or a rash develops.
Will it stain my clothes?
It can, because it's a brown lotion; Maui Babe says to rinse any contact with clothing straight away. Let it soak in before you dress, and keep it away from your eyes.
