Your questions, answered
How much DHA and EPA is in FH PRO Omega-3?
Three softgels give 1,004mg of omega-3 fatty acids: 675mg DHA, 225mg EPA and 104mg of other omega-3s. The oil comes from Icelandic herring, mackerel, sardines and anchovies, and is DHA-led at roughly three parts DHA to one part EPA.
How many softgels a day, and how long does the bottle last?
Three softgels a day, preferably at mealtimes or before bed. The 90 softgels are 30 servings, so one bottle lasts one person 30 days; if you and your partner both take it, buy two.
What can the omega-3 in it actually claim to do?
EPA and DHA contribute to the normal function of the heart, and DHA contributes to the maintenance of normal brain function and normal vision; a daily serving is well above the 250mg those claims need. There is no authorised fertility claim for omega-3, so we don't make one.
Is it for men, women or both?
Both. Fairhaven Health makes FH PRO Omega-3 for women and men preparing to conceive, and each partner takes their own three softgels a day. It is designed to go alongside the FH PRO for Women or FH PRO for Men capsules, which don't contain fish oil.
Will it leave a fishy aftertaste?
The softgels have a natural citrus flavour, and taking them with a meal or just before bed, as the label suggests, helps avoid fishy burps. Keep the bottle somewhere cool and dry.
Is it suitable for vegetarians or anyone with a fish allergy?
No. The oil is from fish and the softgel shell is gelatin, so FH PRO Omega-3 isn't vegetarian and isn't for anyone allergic to fish. The label says it contains no yeast, corn, gluten, artificial preservatives or colours.
FH PRO Omega-3 or PeaPod Omega-3?
The two list the same 675mg DHA and 225mg EPA per three softgels. FH PRO Omega-3 belongs to Fairhaven's preconception range for couples, and Fairhaven Health PeaPod Omega-3, which we also stock, is the pregnancy-range version, so many women switch to it once they're expecting.

Weekend orders
