How much caffeine is in each capsule?
200mg of anhydrous caffeine, plus 50mg of grapefruit extract standardised to 98% naringenin (49mg). One capsule is the full daily portion, so the 120 capsules of Essensey Caffeine last 120 days.
When should I take it?
One capsule with plenty of water, ideally before breakfast or 30 minutes before a workout. The label says not to take it before bedtime and not to mix it with alcohol.
Can I still drink coffee or energy drinks?
The label says not to combine it with other caffeine products and not to go over 400mg of caffeine a day in total. Count coffee, tea, cola, energy drinks and pre-workouts towards that limit, or skip them on days you take a capsule.
Does the grapefruit extract matter if I take medicines?
It can. Essensey warns that naringenin may affect how the gut absorbs certain medicines, temporarily changing how they're processed, so check with a pharmacist before taking Essensey Caffeine alongside any medication.
Who shouldn't take it?
Under-18s, pregnant or breastfeeding women, people with diabetes, high blood pressure or other heart and circulation conditions, and anyone sensitive to caffeine, according to the label.
Is it suitable for vegetarians?
Yes, the capsule shell is hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, a plant cellulose, and the fill is caffeine, maltodextrin and grapefruit extract. It may contain traces of milk, soya, gluten, egg, fish, peanuts and nuts.
