How much maca is in each capsule?
500mg of maca (Lepidium meyenii) root extract, and one capsule is the daily serving. Maca has no authorised health claims in the UK, so we describe the dose and leave the effects out.
How do I take it, and how long does the bottle last?
One capsule a day after a meal, with a drink. At one a day the 90 capsules last three months, which matches the label's advice to use the bottle within 3 months of opening.
Why does the bottle mention fertility and libido?
That's Essensey's EU front-of-pack wording. Those claims aren't authorised in Great Britain, so we can't say Essensey Maca supports either; buy it if you simply want maca in capsule form.
Who shouldn't take it?
The label says it isn't for children or for pregnant or breastfeeding women, or for anyone sensitive to its ingredients. If you take regular medication, check with your GP or pharmacist first.
Is it vegetarian?
Yes, the capsule is hypromellose (plant cellulose), and the only other ingredient is an anti-caking agent, magnesium salts of fatty acids. Store it below 25°C, away from light and moisture.
