How much magnesium is in each tablet?
150mg of magnesium (as magnesium carbonate) per tablet. At the suggested two tablets a day that's 300mg, 80% of the UK reference intake.
How many tablets are in the box?
Eight tubes of 10, so 80 Magnesium Effervescent tablets. At one tablet twice a day the box lasts 40 days, and a single tube covers five days in a bag or desk drawer.
How do I take it?
One tablet twice daily with food or at mealtimes: drop it into 120–180ml (4–6 oz) of water, let it dissolve completely, then drink. Add more water if the raspberry flavour is too strong.
What does magnesium do?
Magnesium contributes to a reduction of tiredness and fatigue, normal muscle function, normal psychological function and electrolyte balance. Trace Minerals Magnesium Effervescent delivers it as a drink rather than another capsule.
What's in the tablet besides magnesium?
Citric acid and sodium bicarbonate make the fizz, which also adds 175mg sodium per tablet. It's sweetened with xylitol and steviol glycosides from stevia, coloured with beetroot juice powder and lutein, and has 10 calories and 3g carbohydrate per tablet.
Fizzy tablets or Mega-Mag drops?
The tablets give a measured 150mg in a flavoured drink you can carry anywhere. Trace Minerals Mega-Mag, which we also stock, is an unflavoured liquid with 400mg per 4ml that you mix into juice or food and can dose drop by drop.
Any side effects?
Too much magnesium can loosen the bowels, and xylitol can do the same in large amounts, so stick to two tablets a day. Keep the tubes away from dogs, because xylitol is toxic to them.
