What does the 4oz jar contain?
Per ounce, Source Naturals Phyto-Estrogen Cream lists 60mg soy isoflavones in liposomal form, 200mg red clover flower extract, 150mg pomegranate fruit juice extract, 80mg black cohosh root extract and 25mg dong quai root extract. They sit in a base of aloe vera gel, cocoa seed butter, vitamin E and lecithin.
How much do I use, and where?
Half a teaspoon massaged into smooth skin, such as the wrists, face, throat or chest, twice a day. The jar says it can be used throughout the month, but it's for topical use only, so keep it away from mucous membranes.
How long will the 113g jar last?
At half a teaspoon twice a day (roughly 5g), about three weeks. That's twice as long as Source Naturals Phyto-Estrogen Cream 2oz, which we also stock with the same cream inside.
Is it an HRT or menopause treatment?
No. It's sold as a cosmetic body cream, not a medicine, and we make no hormonal or menopause claims for it. If you use HRT, take other hormone medication or have a hormone-sensitive condition, ask your GP or pharmacist before using it.
Can I use it with a soy allergy?
No. The label says 'Contains soy', from the soy isoflavone extract. It's also scented with natural cherry-almond fragrance and rosemary oil, so patch-test a small area first if fragranced creams irritate your skin.
Can I use it while pregnant or breastfeeding?
No. Source Naturals' label says not to use it if you're pregnant, may become pregnant or are breastfeeding.
How should I store it?
In a cool, dry place with the lid closed, as the jar directs. It's paraben-free, preserved instead with phenoxyethanol, benzyl alcohol and potassium sorbate.
