What's in Snap Eye Health?
Two capsules provide vitamin A (as beta-carotene) 2,250mcg, vitamin C 225mg, zinc 11mg, a 35mg carotenoid complex of lutein, lycopene and zeaxanthin, and a 600mg polyphenol blend of bilberry, green tea and grape seed extracts with quercetin. The label doesn't give a separate lutein figure within the 35mg complex.
What can it do for my eyes?
Zinc and vitamin A both contribute to the maintenance of normal vision, and vitamin C and zinc contribute to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. Lutein and bilberry have no authorised claims, and any change in your sight should be checked by an optician, not managed with a supplement.
How do I take it and how long does a tub last?
Two capsules a day with food, so the 60-capsule tub of Snap Eye Health lasts 30 days. Taking it with a meal that contains some fat suits the fat-soluble carotenoids.
Can I take it with my multivitamin?
Check your totals first: two capsules of Snap Eye Health already give about 281% of the reference intake for vitamin A and for vitamin C, and 110% for zinc. If your multivitamin also contains vitamin A or zinc, add the two together before taking both.
Is it suitable if I'm pregnant?
Ask your doctor first. The label says to consult a physician before use if you're pregnant or nursing, under 18 or have a medical condition, and to stop and seek advice if any reaction occurs.
Is it sugar-free and vegetarian?
Snap describes Eye Health as sugar-free and non-GMO, and the capsule is plant-based hypromellose. The other ingredients are vegetable magnesium stearate and bamboo extract, with no animal-derived ingredients listed.
