Your questions, answered
How much do I use instead of sugar?
A quarter teaspoon of NuStevia White Stevia Powder is about as sweet as a full teaspoon of sugar. Start with less than you think and add more to taste, because too much stevia is what tastes bitter.
What's it made of?
Stevia leaf extract with maltodextrin, according to NuNaturals' US labelling. The maltodextrin bulks out the very concentrated extract so you can measure it with a spoon.
How many servings are in the tub?
About 680. The 340 g tub is labelled in 0.5 g servings, each with zero calories and under 1 g of carbohydrate.
Is it keto-friendly?
Yes, in normal amounts: a 0.5 g serving has less than 1 g of carbohydrate. Maltodextrin is a carbohydrate, though, so count it if you're using spoonfuls of NuStevia powder in baking.
Can I bake with it?
Yes, but it won't do sugar's other jobs, such as adding bulk and helping things brown, because you use only a quarter as much. Use recipes written for stevia, or for traditional bakes choose a 1:1 sweetener such as Lakanto Monkfruit Sweetener with Erythritol Classic 454g.
What does it go well in?
Hot and cold drinks, porridge, yoghurt, smoothies, sauces and fruit. Flavoured settings such as coffee, cocoa and berries hide stevia's herbal edge best.
Powder or NuNaturals liquid drops?
Powder suits spooning into porridge, dry mixes and baking. NuNaturals Clear Extract NuStevia and Alcohol Free NuStevia Vanilla are drops that dissolve instantly in a cold drink or a single cup of tea.
