What's in Nursing Time Tea?
Six organic and wild-crafted herbs: fennel seed, anise seed, goat's rue, blessed thistle, alfalfa and lemon verbena. Milkies Nursing Time is caffeine-free with a lemony taste, and it contains no fenugreek.
Will it increase my milk supply?
We can't promise that: no herbal tea has an authorised UK claim for breast milk supply. If supply is worrying you, a midwife, health visitor or lactation consultant can check feeding and latch, which make the biggest difference.
How do I brew it?
One teaspoon per cup of boiling water, steeped for about 5 minutes, then strained. It's loose leaf, so use an infuser or teapot; drink it hot or iced, sweetened if you like.
How many cups a day, and how long does the pouch last?
Fairhaven suggests 2–3 cups a day. The 113g pouch makes about 60 cups, so it lasts 20–30 days at that rate.
Who shouldn't drink it?
Retailer copies of the Fairhaven label say Nursing Time Tea is not for anyone taking blood-thinning medication. If you take other medicines or have a health condition, check with your GP or pharmacist before you start.
Why does it matter that it's fenugreek-free?
Many lactation teas are built on fenugreek, which some mums prefer to avoid, for example because of its strong maple-like smell. Fairhaven's pack states Nursing Time is fenugreek-free, relying on fennel, anise and goat's rue instead.
Tea or the Milkies Nursing Postnatal?
They do different jobs: Nursing Time is a herbal tea with no added vitamins, while Milkies Nursing Postnatal, which we also stock, is a two-capsule daily multivitamin with 22 vitamins and minerals for breastfeeding mothers. Plenty of mums use both.
