What's in this Fairhaven bundle?
Two 120-capsule bottles: Fairhaven Health Myo-Inositol, where four capsules give 2,000mg myo-inositol, and OvaBoost for Women, where four capsules give 2,000mg myo-inositol, 150mg alpha lipoic acid, 60mg grape seed extract, 30mg CoQ10, 67mg vitamin E and folate as L-methylfolate (equivalent to 200mcg folic acid).
How many capsules a day is that?
Eight in total: four Myo-Inositol and four OvaBoost, so each bottle lasts 30 days. Each product's four capsules can be taken together or split into two doses with food.
Doesn't taking both double the myo-inositol?
Yes — at their label servings the two bottles together give 4,000mg myo-inositol a day, 2,000mg from each. Check with your GP or fertility clinic that this suits you; OvaBoost on its own already contains 2,000mg.
What do the ingredients do?
The authorised claims sit with OvaBoost's vitamins: vitamin E contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress, and folate contributes to maternal tissue growth during pregnancy. Myo-inositol, CoQ10, alpha lipoic acid and grape seed have no authorised UK claims, so we list them by amount only.
Does the bundle replace my folic acid?
No — OvaBoost's folate equals 200mcg folic acid, and the NHS advises 400mcg folic acid a day while trying to conceive. Fairhaven pairs OvaBoost with a prenatal multivitamin such as FertilAid for Women.
When should I stop?
Once pregnancy is confirmed — Fairhaven's directions for both products say to stop then, and Myo-Inositol isn't recommended while breastfeeding. Both are for adults only.
Who should check with a doctor first?
Speak to your GP before starting if you have a medical condition or take antidepressants, anti-anxiety medication or St John's wort; Fairhaven notes large amounts of myo-inositol may add to the effects of SSRIs.
