Why pay for 'pharmaceutical grade' fish oil when supermarket omega-3 is cheap?
Concentration and purity. Omega 800 is a highly concentrated fish oil, so each softgel carries far more EPA and DHA than a standard supermarket capsule - fewer, smaller doses for the same omega-3 intake, refined to a pharmaceutical-grade standard.
What do EPA and DHA actually do?
The authorised claim worth knowing: EPA and DHA contribute to the normal function of the heart, with the benefit obtained at a daily intake of 250mg of EPA and DHA. A concentrated softgel makes hitting that intake trivial - check the label for the exact per-softgel figures.
Any trick to avoiding fishy burps?
Take your softgel with a proper meal rather than on an empty stomach, and store the bottle sensibly - away from heat and light. Concentrated, well-refined oils like this are also far less prone to it than cheap oxidised oil.
