Each 1,000mg softgel gives 480mg EPA and 320mg DHA, both in triglyceride form, for 840mg of total omega-3s. That 800mg of EPA plus DHA is where the Omega 800 name comes from.

What do EPA and DHA do?
EPA and DHA contribute to the normal function of the heart, a benefit obtained with 250mg a day, and DHA contributes to the maintenance of normal brain function and normal vision at 250mg a day. One Omega 800 softgel covers both amounts.
What does 'pharmaceutical grade' mean here?
It's California Gold Nutrition's description of the oil: KD-Pür concentrate from KD Pharma, purified and processed in Germany and concentrated to about 80% EPA and DHA. It isn't a UK regulatory grade, so the per-softgel EPA and DHA figures are the fairer comparison with other fish oils.
Is it suitable for vegetarians or pescatarians?
Pescatarians yes, vegetarians no — the oil comes from sardines, anchovies and mackerel caught off Peru and Chile, and the softgel shell is fish gelatin. The label lists fish and soy as allergens.
