What's in Bubble-B-Gone?
Each 1 ml serving of Bubble-B-Gone (about 28 drops) contains 1,000 mg of a blend of chamomile flower, catnip, fennel seed and lemon balm extracts. The bottle holds 30 servings and is labelled alcohol-free and gluten-free.
How many drops should I give my child?
The US label doses by weight: 3–5 drops up to 24 lb (about 11 kg), 6–14 drops from 25 to 50 lb (about 11–23 kg) and 15–28 drops over 50 lb. Give it 2–3 times a day.
How do I give the drops?
Put them straight into your child's mouth or mix them into a little water or juice. The label also allows a nursing mother to apply the drops to her nipples before breastfeeding, 3–4 times a day.
How long can we use Bubble-B-Gone?
It's for short-term use, up to 10 days. The label allows the frequency to be doubled for 2–3 days, but not more.
Is it homeopathic?
No. Nature's Answer labels Bubble-B-Gone as a herbal combination and herbal supplement made with real plant extracts. It isn't a diluted homeopathic remedy.
Should I check with someone before giving it to my baby?
Yes, speak to your health visitor, GP or pharmacist before giving any herbal product to a young baby, and avoid it if your child is allergic to chamomile or other daisy-family plants. If your baby's discomfort is frequent or you're worried, get them checked rather than relying on drops.
