What is propolis, and what does it do?
Propolis is the sticky resin bees collect from tree buds and sap to seal and protect the hive. It has no authorised health claims in the UK, so we describe Nature's Answer Propolis by what is in the bottle rather than promise results.
How do I take the drops?
Shake the bottle, then add a 1 ml serving to a little water or juice. Propolis tastes resinous and slightly peppery, and most people find it easier in juice.
How long does the 30 ml bottle last?
About 30 days at one 1 ml serving a day, because the bottle holds 30 servings. If the panel on your bottle allows more than one serving a day, it runs out proportionally faster.
Can I use it if I'm allergic to bees or pollen?
No. The label says to avoid this product if you are allergic to bees or bee products. Propolis comes straight from the hive, so anyone who has reacted to stings, honey or pollen should not try it.
Is Nature's Answer Propolis safe in pregnancy?
No. The label says not to use it if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Keep it out of reach of children, and if you take regular medication, check with your GP or pharmacist first.
Does it contain alcohol or nuts?
It is a low-alcohol extract in a vegetable glycerin and purified water base, and the front label says gluten-free. The label photo on our listing also lists tree nuts (black walnut), so check your bottle if you have a nut allergy.
