What's in a serving of Flex Guard?
Each 15g serving gives 7,000mg hydrolysed collagen type I and 500mg type II, 750mg MSM, 500mg glucosamine sulphate 2KCl (296mg glucosamine), 500mg L-proline, 150mg chondroitin sulphate and 20mg hyaluronic acid. It also adds 120mg calcium, 55mg magnesium, 60mg vitamin C and 54mg omega-3.
How do I mix it, and how long does a tub last?
Dissolve 15g (2.5 scoops) in 200ml of water and drink one serving a day, ideally 30 minutes before a meal. The 375g tub holds 25 servings, so it lasts 25 days.
Which of the ingredients have authorised claims?
The 60mg of vitamin C (75% of the reference intake) contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of cartilage and bones, and the calcium and magnesium contribute to the maintenance of normal bones. Collagen, glucosamine, chondroitin, MSM and hyaluronic acid have no authorised health claims, so Flex Guard makes no promises about pain or repair.
Wildberry or Mango Orange?
The active amounts are the same in both, so pick the flavour you'll happily drink every day. Flex Guard is sweetened with sucralose, and the Wildberry version lists the colour azorubine, which carries the warning that it may have an adverse effect on activity and attention in children.
Is it suitable if I have a fish or shellfish allergy?
Not if you're allergic to fish: the omega-3 comes from fish oil. Glucosamine is often made from shellfish and the source isn't stated on the label we have, so check the tub's allergen information before using it with a shellfish allergy. The collagen is animal-derived, so it isn't vegetarian.
