What is Acne Warrior Clearing Astringent for?
It's a leave-on acne treatment: the Drug Facts list 2% salicylic acid as the active ingredient, for the treatment of acne. Pacifica pairs it with witch hazel, cucumber and niacinamide in a 100% vegan, cruelty-free formula made for acne-prone and oily skin.
How do I use it?
Cleanse first, then sweep a thin layer over the affected area with a cotton pad, once a day to begin with. The label lets you build up to two or three times a day if needed, and suggests trying it on one or two small areas for the first three days.
My skin has gone dry and flaky. What should I do?
Cut back. The label says that if bothersome dryness or peeling occurs, reduce application to once a day or every other day. Following it with a plain moisturiser also helps your skin settle.
Can I use it after the Pacifica Acne Defense Face Wash?
You can, but go slowly: Pacifica Acne Defense Face Wash also contains 2% salicylic acid. The Acne Warrior label warns that irritation and dryness are more likely when you use another topical acne medication at the same time, so if irritation starts, use only one of them.
