How to apply it

What's the active ingredient?
Salicylic acid 2.0%, listed on the Drug Facts panel as an acne medication for the treatment of acne. The 172ml (5.8 fl oz) pump bottle also contains cucumber, niacinamide, aloe, sage and peppermint oil.
How do I use Pacifica Acne Defense Face Wash?
Cover the affected area with a thin layer and rinse thoroughly, one to three times a day. Start with once a day and only build up to two or three times if your skin copes.
I have sensitive skin — where do I start?
With the label's sensitivity test: for the first three days, use it sparingly on one or two small areas. If there's no discomfort, follow the normal directions; if dryness or peeling bothers you later, cut back to once a day or every other day.
Can I use it with other acne products?
Carefully — the label warns that irritation and dryness are more likely if you use another topical acne medication at the same time. If irritation occurs, use only one acne medication at a time.
Is it vegan and cruelty-free?
Yes — the Acne Defense bottle says 100% vegan and cruelty-free. It contains fragrance from natural and essential oils, plus lavender and peppermint, so avoid it if you react to those.
Any safety warnings?
It's for external use only and should be kept out of reach of children; if it's swallowed, get medical help straight away. Check with a pharmacist if you're unsure whether salicylic acid suits your skin.
What goes with it from Pacifica?
