What herbs are in FertiliTea?
Six: chasteberry (vitex), red raspberry leaf, green tea, lady's mantle, nettle leaf and peppermint leaf, from organic and wildcrafted sources, with a mint flavour. None of these herbs has an authorised health claim in the UK, so we describe the blend rather than promise results.
Does FertiliTea contain caffeine?
Some. Green tea is one of the six herbs and naturally contains caffeine, but Fairhaven doesn't state an amount. Count it in your daily caffeine if you're cutting down while trying to conceive.
How do I brew it, and how many cups a day?
Put 1 teaspoon (about 1.4g) in a tea ball or infuser, pour on 8oz (about 240ml) of boiling water, cover and steep for 5 minutes, then strain. Fairhaven suggests 2 to 3 cups a day, hot or chilled.
How long does the 85g pouch last?
About 60 cups, so 20 to 30 days at 2 to 3 cups a day. You can also brew a full pot and keep it in the fridge for iced tea.
Should I keep drinking it once I'm pregnant?
No. The label says to stop FertiliTea once pregnancy has been confirmed by a blood or urine test. Fairhaven's PeaPod Tea for Two, which we also stock, is its pregnancy blend; check with your midwife before starting any herbal tea.
Can I drink it alongside FertilAid, and is there a version for him?
Yes. The FertiliTea pouch says it can be taken with FertilAid for Women, and partners can brew Fairhaven's ViriliTea (113g), the male counterpart we also sell.
