How strong is this astragalus extract?
Each 2ml serving is equivalent to 2,000mg of dried astragalus root (Astragalus membranaceus), extracted at a 1:1 ratio. The 30ml bottle holds 15 of those servings.
How do I take it?
Shake the bottle, then take 1 to 2ml (28 to 56 drops) in a little water, three times a day. At the lower 1ml three times a day, one bottle lasts about 10 days.
Is it really alcohol-free?
Yes. Nature's Answer makes this version with vegetable glycerin and purified water instead of alcohol, which gives it a mildly sweet taste. It's also labelled gluten-free and kosher parve.
What is astragalus traditionally used for?
Astragalus root, known as huang qi, is one of the core herbs of traditional Chinese herbalism. It has no authorised health claims in the UK, so we describe Nature's Answer Astragalus by its strength and extraction rather than promise results.
Can I take it during pregnancy?
No. The label says not to use it if you're pregnant or nursing. If you take regular medication, check with a pharmacist or GP before starting a herbal extract.
